Favorable Week 2 Match-Ups

After the conclusion of week one, a forgettable week one for many, we can take solace in the fact that Week Two is a brand new slate and has some solid match-ups that we can exploit. We will start with the QBs and work our way down the roster finding good value and potentially monster match-ups.

Quarterbacks

Carson Palmer ($7,800)- @ Chicago

Carson Palmer had a very effective first week. He threw for 307 yards and three scores as he spread the ball around to all of his playmakers. Now, I am fully aware that New Orleans defense is not the great but guess what? Neither are the Bears! Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of 23 passes for 3 TDs and 189 yards last week and I have to expect that Palmer throws the ball 30+ times next week. With the loss of top RB, Andre Ellington, they are expected to throw the ball all weekend. He is the 14th most expensive QB this week, you can bet he will be in all of my line-ups.

Ryan Tannehill ($8,000)- @ Jacksonville

We are looking for a bounce back performance here, to say the least. He didn’t turn the ball over last weekend but he had a meager first week against Washington. We were expecting a big day from this entire offense but they struggled to gain traction and get into a rhythm. I expect a better day for the entire offense.

Drew Brees ($8,900)- VS Tampa Bay

Just look at what Mariota did in the first half last week at Tampa. Enough said. Bree’s is my top choice this week, as long as you can afford him.

Running Backs

Justin Forsett ($7,800)- @ Oakland

Marc Trestman is notorious for his running backs racking up the receptions. After a poor week one showing for Forsett, I expect him to go off this week against an Oakland defense that gave up 6 receptions on 6 targets to RBs last week. Forsett will get it done on the ground as well.

Marshawn Lynch ($8,500)- @ Green Bay

At Green Bay sounds daunting but look what Forte did to the Packers via the ground last week. Marshawn still had a decent game on Sunday at St. Louis, whose have the best defensive line in football. He showed some ability to catch the ball out of the backfield too, which should make owners excited about the rest of the season.

Lamar Miller ($7,300)- @ Jacksonville
Bishop Sankey ($6,500)- @ Cleveland
Chris Johnson ($5,700)- @ Chicago

Wide Receivers

Davante Adams ($6,400)- VS Seattle

Seattle’s defense looked mediocre against the Rams. With Randall Cobb adjacent to Adams, I expect Adams to find himself in space quite a bit on Sunday. He was targeted a team 8 times on Sunday and I expect him to find the end-zone this weekend.

Julio Jones ($8,800)- @ NYG

Obvious name for obvious reasons. Did you see what he did to Byron Maxwell on Monday night? Did you see Tony Romo slice through the Giant’s secondary on Sunday night? Julio is a must play and should have another huge night.

DeAndre Hopkins ($8,100)- @ Carolina

Without Foster (reports are saying there is a chance but I highly doubt it) this offense will revolve around Hopkins. Targeted 13 times Sunday and catching 9 of them is a good sign. Carolina has a solid defensive front but I am taking DeAndre.

Brandin Cooks ($7,400)- VS Tampa Bay
Jarvis Landry ($7,100)- @ Jacksonville
Antonio Brown ($9,200)- VS San Fransisco (duh)

Tight Ends

Martellus Bennet ($6,100)- VS Arizona

Arizona has given up the fifth most points to fantasy tight ends since last season, Bennet is a solid play for the value.
Jordan Cameron ($5,500)- @ Jacksonville
