Good Value Plays for Fantasy Football Week 3

We all like saving money, no matter what the setting. Every week there are solid plays available FD that could pay off in big ways. If you can find a way to slot one or two of these low priced players into the line-up, that give you the ability to load up on studs like Antonio Brown, AP and Julio Jones.

Quarterbacks

Josh McCown ($6,000) VS Oakland

Yes, Josh “Helicoptor” McCown is on my radar this week. Playing Oakland at home who isn’t as bad as we thought they were but I still look at them as a match-up game. This game should benefit a lot of players in terms of fantasy and for $6,000 price tag, I believe he will be the 2nd or 3rd cheapest starter of the week depending on Drew Bree’s status. We have seen McCown have the ability to chuck it around a bit and with Benjamin figuring it out, we could see a productive week for the price.

Tyrod Taylor ($7,000) @ Miami

For starters, Miami looks miserable thus far and Tyrod Taylor looks like the real deal. Averaging 22.4 FDPs through 2 weeks and a price tag of $7,000 makes him the 20th most expensive QB of the week, he could have a large ownership percentage but I don’t expect it to be ridiculous.

Running Backs

Latavius Murray ($7,000) @ Cleveland

Guess who is giving up the most yards per carry in the league after two weeks? Yep, the Browns. Latavius appears to be one of the very few 3 down backs in the league and after he went for 4.3 YPC against BAL last week, I expect him to see the ball a lot this weekend.

Dion Lewis ($6,700) VS New England

We may run into ownership percentage issues for big tournaments but in 50/50’s, H2H’s, and small tournaments it is tough to avoid him for his price tag. 17.4 FDPs after two weeks, he has shown that he has the ability to be a weapon on the ground and in the air, against Jacksonville this week, I expect we will a lot of Lewis in a few different ways.

  • Isaiah Crowell ($6,600) VS Oakland
  • Joseph Randle ($6,500) VS Atlanta
  • Bishop Sankey ($6,300) VS Indy

Wide Receiver’s

Julian Edelman ($7,700) VS Jacksonville

This may seem like an obvious name but he is the 9th most expensive WR this week when really he is in my top 4. Jacksonville is AWFUL against receivers in the slot and have been very generous with giving them fantasy points. Edelman and Brady have been on the same page all year and this week should be no different

James Jones ($5,700) VS Kansas City

Davante Adams not practicing and Jones has being a safety blanket for Rodgers has Jones as a solid value play this week. Kansas City is solid on defense but Rodgers is unreal at home. Expect Jones to find the end-zone and maybe even some more targets.

  • Nate Washington ($5,300) VS Tampa Bay
  • Travis Benjamin ($5,600) VS Oakland

Tight Ends

Colby Fleener ($4,900) @ Tennessee

Usually not high on Fleener but with Dwayne Allen out and the low price of $4,900, he could do some damage for that price. Hilton and Johnson are a little beat up as well which bodes well for Fleener getting some touches.

  • Richard Rogers($4,900) VS Kansas City
