Week 6 Fantasy Football Waiver Pickups

Week 6 of fantasy football is right around the corner, and fantasy owners should be editing their line ups and studying which players can bring the most investment on return. Most fantasy leagues are in fact free, but paid fantasy leagues are the hottest topic in the sports world right now. In some ongoing seasonal leagues, it costs to pick up players from the waivers, and it definitely costs money in daily or weekly leagues. So, which players have the best chance of scoring serious points in week 6?

Jamaal Charles is presumed to have torn his ACL, and will likely be out in week 6, if not the entire season. Kansas City’s backup, Charcandrick West, is one of the safest bets as a RB2 or FLEX option. The Chiefs love running the ball behind their strong offensive line, which makes Charcandrick West one of the safest options to pick up this week. Don’t pick up Knile Davis in hopes he will get the majority of the snaps this year. West has 26 snaps as a back up RB this year, Davis has zero.

Joique Bell owners are mad that he’s been hurt, as he had a great 2014 campaign. The Lions do not have many RB’s to choose from, as Abdullah has brought plenty of fumbles to the table. Theo Riddick, who has been active in past weeks, is a great replacement for Bell. Riddick is not used often as a runner, and is known to score significantly more in deep PPR leagues.

As far as wide receivers are concerned, Dwayne Harris of the New York Giants is a great WR to pick up OBJ had a nagging hamstring injury this Sunday, with Randle sharing the same injury. Dwayne Harris has been used more and more in recent weeks, without respect to fellow WR’s injuries, so picking him up this week is a great decision.

Without DeSean Jackson and Jordan Reed, the Redskins have not had their number 1 and 2 WR’s. Jamison Crowder, currently filling in the WR1 spot for the Skins, has led the team in targets, receptions, and yards per catch. Crowder is a sure bet in the WR2 or FLEX spots for week 6.

Now, on to tight ends. TE’s are not as important as WR’s and RB’s, but are very much important. Charles Clay and Gary Barnidge are two of the hottest selections for week 6. Barnidge is having one of the hottest times of his career, with 139 yards in week 5 off of eight catches. Fantasy owners should not expect for their TE’s to catch eight footballs every game, but should expect Barnidge to go off and have another great game in week 6.

Like always, all of the best quarterbacks have already been scooped up, but there is a small sliver of hope for fantasy owners in need of a new QB. Although he has not had the hottest year so far, Sam Bradford looks to be one of the most promising QBs that is not owned in many leagues in week 6.
