Week 8 Fantasy Football: Wide Receivers
- Updated: October 31, 2015
4 receivers went for 20 or more ESPN Standard points last week and a few of them were surprise appearances on this list. Nate Washington and Jarvis Landry probably weren’t supposed to be on this list but hey, anything can happen from any week. One of these players, Nate Washington had 16 targets, SIXTEEN! That was second only to Julio Jones who had 17 on the day. The list this week will feature some familiar faces but I am going to try and avoid dropping the most obvious of names like; Julio Jones against the Buc’s who have given up the 5th most points to WR’s. Easy play. The less obvious plays can be seen below.
Calvin Johnson (FD: $8,600 DK: $7,900) VS KC (In London)
Kansas City is still bad against the pass, that hasn’t changed. I am pretty sure there is another thing working against the Chiefs this season as well. Detroit can’t get the run game going as it is so they will need to rely on the long ball. I like Calvin’s value in both platforms, 4th most expensive in FD and 5th in Draft Kings but the difference in price between Julio and Calvin is significant ($1,300) so it will save some money to have an elite option in Calvin.
Keenan Allen (FD: $8,000 DK: $7,700) @ Baltimore
One of the main things I look for each week is finding a team that is strong against the run but awful against the pass… Guess who?! The Ravens. 2nd worst against opposing WR’s in the NFL (fantasy wise) and strong against the already bad Charger run game. I like Allen a lot this week and he is the 9th most expensive WR in DK and FD this week and I like him to finish top three.
Stefon Diggs (FD: $6,700 DK: $4,800 @ Chicago
Forewarning. His ownership percentage will be ridiculously high this weekend so I wouldn’t expect a major steal here. He has become more of a focal point in the Vike’s offense than Adrian Peterson the past few weeks and while teams still need to pay attention to Mike Wallace, Diggs should make an impact right away. I like his match-up against the Bears this week and I think the Vike’s will throw it a moderate amount.
AJ Green (FD: $8,200 DK: $7,600) @ Pittsburgh
The Steeler’s defense is hit or miss on their secondary and I expect a big miss this weekend. They’ve given up double-digit fantasy points in all but one week this season and the Bengals run game has failed to establish itself this season, or at least the past few weeks. I love AJ Green this week especially in Draft Kings formats as he is very cheap.

- Alshon Jeffery ($7,700; $6,400)
- Donte Moncrief ($6,400; $5,500)
